Lagos — The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company, NDPHC, Jennifer Adighije, has said the company is strengthening corporate governance, operational efficiency and strategic leadership to accelerate improvements in electricity supply across Nigeria.
Adighije stated this while welcoming two newly appointed Executive Directors to the company’s management team, describing their appointments as a significant step towards reinforcing NDPHC’s leadership structure and enhancing the delivery of its mandate across Nigeria’s electricity value chain.
The newly appointed directors are Patrick Obahiagbon, Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, and Chukwuma Umeoji, Executive Director, Corporate Services.
According to Adighije, President Bola Tinubu’s appointments reflect the Federal Government’s determination to reposition NDPHC for stronger institutional performance while advancing reforms designed to improve electricity generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure nationwide.
She said the appointments would reinforce corporate governance, strengthen operational efficiency and enhance the company’s capacity to deliver sustainable value to Nigeria’s power sector.
Expressing appreciation to President Tinubu for the appointments, Adighije said the selection of experienced professionals demonstrated the administration’s commitment to building a leadership team capable of advancing NDPHC’s strategic vision and supporting ongoing reforms in the electricity industry.
“The appointments mark another important milestone in our transformation agenda and will strengthen strategic planning, corporate governance, commercial operations, stakeholder engagement and institutional effectiveness,” she said.
Adighije stressed that effective leadership, collaboration and teamwork remain critical to achieving the company’s strategic priorities, particularly as NDPHC continues efforts to increase electricity generation, expand transmission infrastructure, strengthen distribution networks and unlock stranded generation assets across the country.
She noted that the expertise and experience of the new Executive Directors would complement the existing management team and improve the company’s ability to execute projects that support the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to her, “the strengthened leadership team will promote innovation, improve decision-making, deepen stakeholder confidence, and accelerate the execution of critical power projects.”
She added that the appointments would further position NDPHC to play a more strategic role in Nigeria’s power sector reforms by improving the reliability and resilience of electricity supply while supporting economic growth, industrial expansion and national development.
