08 February 2018, Sweetcrude, Lagos – The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC is currently investigating the alleged debt owed Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC, by the Enugu State government, SweetcrudeReports has learnt.
The investigation started on Tuesday.
It would be recalled that EEDC was the second least performer in terms of meter distribution among the eleven power distribution companies or Discos in the country in 2017.
According to fourth quarter 2017 statistics obtained from the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, NBS on Tuesday, EEDC, with a total of 809,829 customer base, distributed 224,445 to its customers since privatisation in 2013, representing 27.72 percent coverage of customers in its jurisdiction.
