05 July 2012, Sweetcrude, ABUJA – GROUP Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mr. Andrew Yakubu, says his new management would review audit reports of the activities of the corporation over the last five years.

He made the disclosure at his inaugural town hall meeting with management and staff at the NNPC Towers, saying his administration would ensure the security and rehabilitation of key pipeline infrastructure to guarantee efficient supply and distribution of petroleum products across the country.

The group managing director (GMD) also said the corporation would, henceforth, build a comprehensive information data base to improve its performance.

“NNPC will have a zero tolerance for corruption and cases of corrupt practices will be severely dealt with in accordance with extant laws,” Fidelis Pepple, acting Group General Manager, Public Affairs Division of the NNPC quoted the GMD as saying.

Yakubu stated that the management would work at providing adequate welfare to staff as well as strengthen its human resource base.

He further stated that the corporation will introduce new business models in all Strategic Business Units (SBUs), which will ensure the commercial viability of the Corporation and give it competitive muscle in the global oil and gas industry.
