Dublin, Ireland — The Nigerian Government has appointed Ambassador Gabriel Tanimu Aduda as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
The ministry, in a statement in Abuja, noted that Aduda’s deployment was contained in a circular by the Head of Service with reference number: HCSF/248/III/163, dated 4th October 2022. Prior to his redeployment to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Aduda was Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Speaking at the welcome ceremony organised for him, Aduda promised to work assiduously to ensure the petroleum ministry succeeds in its mandate in the oil and gas sector.
Aduda stated that with the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) in place, the ministry would have to work out modalities for the reforms that would now form the country’s new oil and gas industry policy to help it appreciate the beauty of the PIA and how the ministry positions herself to play her roles effectively in its implementation.
He advocated effective means and methods of relating with the various agencies in the sector, with the aim of evolving a world class oil and gas industry.
He urged staff of the ministry to put aside their individual differences and perspectives and work towards moving the ministry and the country forward, while he commended his predecessors for the wonderful job they had started.
He appreciated the Directors for the warm reception and assured that he would operate an open-door policy to enable them to relate with him freely.
