Port Harcourt — Nigeria’s oil and gas support services sector is set for a major boost following a new partnership between Caverton Group and NHV, aimed at strengthening logistics and operational support across multiple production lines in the industry.
The development was disclosed by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, after he received senior executives of Caverton and NHV during a briefing visit.
Those present at the meeting included Bode Makanjuola, Rotimi Makanjuola and Capt. Bello Ibrahim of Caverton, alongside Lars Thorngreen and Jamie John of NHV, who outlined the scope of the collaboration and its expected impact on oil sector operations.
According to Lokpobiri, the partnership aligns with the growing scale of investments entering Nigeria’s oil and gas industry and the rising demand for high-quality logistics and support services.
“With the scale of investments coming into the country, the demand for logistics and other support services will continue to grow,” the minister said. “Partnerships of this nature are critical to their success and to the attainment of our production aspirations.”
The minister recalled his inspection visit last year to Caverton’s Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul, MRO, facility and the Caverton Aviation Training Centre, CATC, where he highlighted the company’s strategic importance to the sector.
“I had already seen first-hand the positive impact Caverton is positioned to deliver to the industry,” Lokpobiri noted.
He added that reforms under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have transformed the oil sector and created a more enabling environment for industry players.
“Under President Tinubu’s leadership, the oil sector has undergone significant transformation, creating a more conducive environment for operators to thrive, and this is progress we are determined to sustain,” he said.

The Caverton-NHV partnership signals growing confidence in Nigeria’s oil services ecosystem and underscores the role of indigenous capacity and international collaboration in driving production growth.
