The NNPCL added that 9.727 BSCF of gas, representing 5.86 per cent of total gas output, was utilized as fuel gas; 5.139 BSCF of gas, representing 3.1 per cent of total output, was utilized by the Escravos Gas to Liquid (EGTL) project; Natural Gas Liquid/Liquefied Petroleum Gas (NGL/LPG) used up 1.996 BSCF of gas, representing 1.2 per cent of total gas output; while gas reinjection and gas lift make-up utilized 46.354 BSCF of gas, representing 27.92 per cent of total gas produced in the month of August.

On the other hand, the NNPC reported that 9.392 BSCF of gas was flared in the month under review, representing six per cent of total gas output, and dropping by 2.38 per cent compared with 9.622 BSCF of gas flared in July 2024.
