Speaking to Vanguard Maritime Report, President of NAMM, Captain Tajudeen Alao said that the facility was exposed to the sea, water movement and wind adding that the mooring ropes were also cutting, and nobody could claim responsibility.
Alao disclosed that because of former location at the Naval Dockyard, there were some damages to the body of the facility adding that the Dockyard is well protected in current location because it in sheltered waters.
He explained that people could be held responsible because there must be armed guards on board her adding that there must provision for all that.
He said:” The Navy Dockyard where the floating Dock was before its relocation was exposed to the sea and water movements. There were damages on the body and the mooring ropes were cutting and nobody will claim responsibility for that.
“The facility has been relocated to sheltered waters and once you are in sheltered water, you are protected and if it is vandalized in its current location, then some people can be held responsible.”
