28 March 2013, Abuja – The Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited, NDPHC, owners of the National Integrated Power Project, NIPP, has launched 38 power injector sub-stations in four states of the federation.
They will support the 125MWT power plant in Edo State and boost electricity supply across the country.
Managing Director of NDPHC, Mr. James Olotu, said at the launching ceremony that the new sub-stations serve as step-down to the Ihorvbor power plant, promising that when it is completed, it would boost power supply to communities in Edo, Delta, Ondo and Ekiti states.
He said the newly 2X15 MVA 33/11KV transformer, stationed at Oluku, a suburb of Benin City, is capable of boosting power supply to the community and bringing about more stability.
According to him, in line with the transformation and power sector reform agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan administration, NIPP will deliver more projects this year and boost quality of power supply to Nigerians.
Olotu said the development was based on government determination to make electricity supply available to more consumers in the four states in particular and the nation in general.
He said the Federal Government was committed to ensuring that electricity gets to every part of the nation as he called on consumers to assist in protecting the projects against vandalism and pay their bills regularly.
