07 September 2012, Sweetcrude, LAGOS – MR. Ifeanyi Ubah, Managing Director, Capital Oil and Gas Ltd., on Thursday assured that the NNPC had enough stock of petrol to “last the country for a long time“.
Ubah disclosed this in Lagos while reacting to speculations that petrol scarcity was imminent in Lagos.
He said: “In the effort to address the ongoing speculation of petrol scarcity, the NNPC has sufficient petroleum products in its tank farm facilities with us.
“The available products will take care of the country’s daily consumption for weeks, “ he said.
Ubah said that over 500 trucks were loading petrol daily at the company’s facilities.
“Nigerians should stop panicking. Over 500 trucks load products from our depot on daily basis to other states.
“We have over 20-arms loading gantry in our depot that can load over 20 trucks at a go,’’ Ubah added.
NAN correspondent, who monitored petrol being loaded at Apapa depot, reported that trucks at Capital Oil and Gas and Acorn Petroleum depots were loading.
Mr Isiaka Yahaya, Auditor General, Sahara Unit of Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD), confirmed to NAN that Capital Oil and Gas as well as Acorn Petroleum were supplying petrol to tankers. (NAN)
