    NNPC/Chevron 2011 national arts competition holds in Lagos

    5 October 2011, Sweetcrude, Lagos – Chevron Nigeria Limited, CNL, Operator of the NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture, has announced its twoweek activities marking the 2011 National Arts Competition for Children this year.

    The event will commence on Thursday October 6, 2011 with Exhibition and Prizegiving ceremony at the Muson Centre, Onikan Lagos. This will be followed by an art exhibition at the Chevron-donated Lekki Conservation Centre, Lekki.

    The General Manager, Policy, Government and Public Affairs (PGPA), Engr. Femi Odumabo, explains that the theme of the 2011 edition of the Arts Competition is, Partnership for National Progress.

    According to him, it has been specially packaged as part of the company’s 50th Anniversary celebration to commemorate the success of the NNPC/Chevron’s partnership over the years, in supporting national growth and development.

    In his words, “the sponsorship of Arts Competition is in line with NNPC/Chevron’s vision of helping Nigeria lay a foundation of creative and productive youths who, by virtue of their education and creativity, can stand tall amongst their peers in any part of the world.”

    Guests expected to grace the occasion include: Ministers for Education and Youth Development, Representatives of the National Assembly, Lagos State Government, UNICEF, USAID, NNPC/NAPIMS, Permanent Secretaries, the adjudication panel members and members of the Press.
