Port Harcourt — In a major boost to employee welfare, NNPC Retail Limited, in collaboration with NNPC Health Maintenance Organization, HMO, has launched the Attendants’ Health Insurance Scheme, providing more than 7,000 service attendants across Nigeria with access to quality healthcare.
The initiative, unveiled at the NNPC Mega Station in Abuja, underscores the national oil company’s commitment to improving staff welfare, boosting productivity, and ensuring world-class service delivery at all its retail outlets.
According to the company’s tweets on X, the health insurance scheme was designed to safeguard the well-being of frontline staff who represent the company’s face to millions of customers daily.
“Our attendants are the backbone of our retail operations they serve Nigerians tirelessly, rain or shine. With this scheme, we are ensuring that their health and welfare are adequately protected. A healthy workforce is not only a productive workforce but also one that delivers better service to our valued customers,” NNPCL tweeted on X.
It further explained that the initiative will connect attendants to a wide network of hospitals across the country through the NNPC HMO platform, guaranteeing access to timely and reliable medical care regardless of location.
The Attendants’ Health Insurance Scheme, NNPCL said, covers preventive care, consultations, and emergency services, ensuring that attendants and their dependents enjoy sustainable healthcare coverage.
“At NNPC Limited, we believe that our people are our most valuable assets. This health insurance initiative speaks directly to that philosophy. By caring for those who serve at our stations, we are reinforcing our mission to provide energy responsibly, with people at the heart of everything we do,” NNPCL stated.
The tweet added that the company remains committed to “going beyond the pump” to ensure its employees reflect the company’s core values of service, safety, and sustainability.
The scheme is part of NNPC’s broader effort to align its operations with global best practices in workforce welfare, while strengthening morale among its retail service teams nationwide.
With the new policy, NNPC Retail attendants will now have uninterrupted access to medical services, reinforcing the company’s position as a responsible energy provider that cares for both its people and its customers.
