    NSCDC parades 15 suspected oil thieves, trucks with adulterated AGO

    Port Harcourt — The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp has paraded 15 suspected oil thieves arrested by the Commandant General’s Intelligent Squad in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

    Parading the suspects at the Rivers State Command of NSCDC, Assitant Commandant of Corp and Public Relations Officer, Mr Oguntuase Michael, said the 15 suspects were arrested with the six trucks and a bus laden with suspected illegally refined Automotive Gasoline Oil.

    The Assitant Commandant said the arrest was carried out by the Commandant General’s squad in collaboration with the operatives of the Rivers State Command.

    Oguntuase assured that the fight against vandalism of the critical national assets and infrastructure in the country, as well as the fight against oil theft in the state, werestill ongoing untill the criminals are arrested.

    He said despite the disbandment of the anti-vandal team of the Command, the command was poised to stamp out vandalism, illegal oil bunkering and refining activities in the state, through the Commandant General’s Intelligent Squad sent to the state.

    “On the 15th of January 2022, two out of the six trucks arrested were handed over to the command by the Chairman of Emuoha local government area, Mr Chidi Illoyd, for interrogation and possible prosecution.

    “On the 15th of January 2022, the Command arrested two suspected oil thiefs close to Domino Pizza along Olu-obasanjo Road with Daf truck with registration number RNG 181 XC.”

    He assured that the arrested suspects would be charged to court after interrogation and investigation, while calling on members of the public to give prompt information to the command in other to stamp out the menace by criminals.
