Lagos — A team from TechnipFMC, a fully integrated technology and service provider in the oil and gas sector, led by its Vice President, Vincent Julien, has visited the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission’s, NUPRC, Chief Executive, Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, at the Commission’s headquarters quarters in Jabi, Abuja.

During the meeting, which aimed to foster relationships, Julien expressed a keen interest in the exciting business opportunities in Nigeria and other African countries and promised NUPRC the best of TechnipFMC’s technology.

In his remarks, Komolafe thanked the TechnipFMC team for their continued interest in doing business with Nigeria. He highlighted the significant strides NUPRC has made since the passage of the Petroleum Industry Act, PIA. He referred to the Seventeen (17) Regulations that were published to provide service providers with regulatory guidelines aimed at easing the process of doing business in the sector.

Komolafe also encouraged TechnipFMC to follow up with the licensing process. He drew their attention to the recent roadshows conducted by NUPRC in Europe, America, and other regions, which have gathered encouraging feedback. He emphasised the importance of continuous collaboration, pointing out attractive factors such as Nigeria’s large population and productive terrain.

The visit underscores the growing interest and investment opportunities in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, driven by regulatory clarity and proactive engagement by NUPRC.
