Port Harcourt — The Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority has emerged as the overall best in efficiency, transparency and in the promotion of ease of doing business around its free zones across the country, by th Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council.
According to PEBEC’s 2021/2022 bi-annual report, OGFZA was rated 83percent in transparency and efficiency for the first half of 2022, ahead of 36 other Ministries, Departments and Agencies in Nigeria, making it the third time the agency would clinch the first position by PEBEC in a row.
PEBEC was established in July 2016 by President Muhammadu Buhari to remove bureaucratic constraints to doing business in Nigeria and make the country a progressively easier place to start and grow a business towards entrenching transparency and efficiency in public service delivery.
A statement by the Assistant General Manager, Corporate Communications, OGFZA Golda Ukomadu, said the agency remains committed to the compliance with the tenets of the Federal Government ease of doing business.
Ukomadu in the statement noted that the Managing Director of OGFZA, Sen Tijjani Kaura remains committed to excellence, efficiency and outcomes that are critical to productivity in the service of national interests.
“As a responsive government agency, OGFZA prides itself in the actualization of corporate and private economic interests and remains irredeemably committed to the qualitative compliance with the tenets of the ease of doing business as captured in the Executive Order 1.
“It is the believe of the Sen. Tijjani Y. Kaura led OGFZA, that government organisations should be driven with high level commitment to excellence, efficiency, evaluation and appreciable outcomes that are critical to productivity in the service of national interests, which captures the brand promise that OGFZA is assuring to keep.”
