Port Harcourt — A huge fire from a 33,000 litres fuel tanker has razed Bridge bus-stop, near First Artillery Junction, along the Port Harcourt-Aba highway in Port Harcourt, causing heavy traffic along the road.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained as witnesses said the fuel tanker, laden with premium motor spirit, also known as petrol, fell along the road and spilled its contents.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in Rivers State, Grace Iringe-Koko, who confirmed the development, said the Rivers State Police Command has been notified of the fire incident.
Iringe-Koko said although the cause of the fire was not yet known, operatives of the Fire Service and the Police Control Room have been notified.
