Port Harcourt — The Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture, PHCCIMA, has commended the Rivers State Government’s N1.188 trillion 2025 budget, describing it as a strategic plan to drive economic growth and improve living standards.

In a statement by its President, Dr. Chinyere Nwoga, PHCCIMA praised the budget’s emphasis on food security, education, and health, which received substantial allocations.

The Chamber also noted the Recurrent-to-Capital Expenditure ratio of 44:56%, highlighting the government’s commitment to infrastructure development—a critical enabler for business growth.

“The N1.88 trillion budget, presented by His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, is a forward-looking blueprint that addresses the core needs of both the business community and the people of Rivers State,” Dr. Nwoga said.

PHCCIMA announced that its Think-Tank team would conduct an in-depth analysis of the budget to identify opportunities and potential challenges. The findings will be shared with government agencies and stakeholders to support effective implementation.

Describing the budget as a “moral document,” PHCCIMA expressed optimism that its successful execution would unlock new economic opportunities and improve the state’s overall business climate.

“We are particularly encouraged by the government’s prioritization of infrastructure, as it forms the backbone of a thriving economy. We look forward to seeing this budget implemented in ways that will foster inclusive growth and prosperity in 2025,” Dr. Nwoga added.
