Lagos — A four-man team from Port Health Service led by the new administrator of Apapa Port Health Services Ogungbayi R. Adeniyi paid a familiarisation visit to the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, NSC, Headquarters in Lagos.
The team was received by the Executive Secretary of the NSC, Barr. Akutah Pius, represented by the Director, Human Resources Management Department, Mrs. Adaku Okam.
In his welcome address, the Executive Secretary who appreciated the visit by the Port Health Service, lauded the role they have been playing at the ports in their operations. He affirmed NSC’s readiness to work with the new administrator of Apapa Port Health Service.
The new administrator of Apapa Port Health Services, Ogungbayi R. Adeniyi said the essence of the visit is to familiarise himself with NSC being the nation’s Ports Economic Regulator.
He unveiled plans to embark on digitisation of their operational activities at the ports to aid processes.
He also sought for continuous cooperation and collaboration from NSC towards meeting their incisive aspirations at the ports.
Also speaking, the Director, Regulatory Services Department of NSC, Mrs. Margaret Ogbonna, said Nigeria has recorded immense progress in the activities of Port health at the Port, attributing their seamless operational activities.
