Secretary of the community, Mr. Johnbull Omokaro, who doubles as Seplat Communities of Operations Development Committee Secretary, said, adding that the projects were supervised by the company’s engineers and completed to specification.

Omokaro hailed the company for renovating the community primary school and enhancing teaching and learning condition of staff and pupils of the school. Human Resources Manager of the company, Mr. Mike Akeh, who represented the Base Manager, Prince ChukwumahIgelenyah, said the projects were facilitated by a Global Memorandum of Understanding, GMOU, which the company had entered into with its host communities.

He added that the GMOU provided for “win-win” collaboration with direct participation of the representatives of the communities in projects from inception to completion, with emphasis on due process, empowerment and human capital development.

Meanwhile, the company has been commended by the Oba of Benin. The monarch, represented by a senior palace chief, Chief Gauis Aigbogin, who is the Imuokpan of Benin Kingdom, told Vanguard that the royal father was grateful for the spread of infrastructural projects across Edo communities and enjoined other multinational oil companies to emulate the stride of Seplat Petroleum, so as to give Edo communities face lift.
