Newswire — Shearwater Geoservices Holding AS has been awarded a major offshore project by TotalEnergies to conduct a deepwater ocean-bottom node (OBN) survey in Angola.

The survey will cover the Louro and Mostarda fields in Block 32, where Shearwater previously completed a 4D streamer survey for the energy giant.

The survey, set to begin in January 2025, will span two and a half months. Shearwater will deploy its SW Tasman vessel, equipped with dual remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and designed for seismic node laying, alongside the SW Gallien as the source vessel. The company will also use its Pearl node technology for the project.

“We are very satisfied with the performance of our SW Tasman/Pearl OBN platform,” said Shearwater CEO Irene Waage Basili. “We are pleased to see one more key client use this unique platform to introduce deepwater OBN to new areas of their operations.”
