According to him, “Nigerians have an option between light and darkness. If we need darkness, let us continue the way we are going now. Let’s continue to say they should reverse the tariff, let’s continue to steal energy, let’s continue to vandalise gas pipelines, let’s continue not paying our bills.”

The Executive Director, Research and Advocacy, ANED, Sunday Oduntan, who briefed the media on the challenges facing the industry said that the industry revenue shortfall is massive and growing to the tune of N300 billion.
Briefing journalists on the updates of their operations and the challenges they face, Oduntan said that by the end of April, 2016, MDAs’ debts stood at a total of N78.6 billion with the military being the highest debtor at N38.7 billion.
He further appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to also prevail on the Nigerian Army to stop assaulting the Discos staff over electricity supply, while lamenting a particular incident which occurred on the 6th of March, 2015, where an Army Major from the 33 Artillery Brigade in Ogun State, allegedly led other officers to the control room to brutalise a staff working at the injection substation.
