    TEPNG targets production from Ikike oilfield in 2021

    Port Harcourt — Total Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited, TEPNG, has said it is targeting production from its Ikike satellite field in 2021.
    Ikike field, located within the Oil Mining Lease, OML 99, is 20km offshore and 15km north of Amenam It is expected to increase Total’s crude oil production within the oil block, when it comes on stream.
    TEPNG General Manager, Community Affairs Projects and Development, Mr. Obinna Ofoezie, while speaking at the stakeholders sensitisation programme organised for offshore communities, said all the fabrication jobs for the Ikike project were done in-country and by Nigerians.
    Ofoezie, represented by the Community Affairs Manager, Saheed Ogunsanya, who gave details of the project, assured that offshore host communities would be part of the project.
    “One well-head platform and the rig is tie-back to Amenam facility. The project will be concluded between six months to one year.
    Production targets for 2021.
    “Topsides and jackets for this project are fabricated in-country and by Nigerians. We believe in Nigerian content and these topsides will be completed in the coming weeks,” he said.
    TEPNG further disclosed that offshore host communities would be integrated into the project in terms of employment and trainings, assuring that every unskilled job will be allotted to the communities.

    Host community scores TEPNG high on CSR

    He said: “We have engaged with paramount rulers in our offshore host communities in both Rivers and Akwa Ibom state.s We ensure our host communities are carried along in our projects.
    “Offshore communities will be a part of the project in terms of employment, capacity trainings in oil and gas-related skills, such as scaffolding, crane operations, etc
    “We have engaged our contractors for the project, and we are assuring you that all unskilled jobs goes to the host communities 100 percent.
    “There will be community-assisted projects in our offshore host communities in Akwa Ibom and Rivers states, such as provision of potable water, road rehabilitation, etc.
    “I can assure you that the benefits of this project will be brought to the people. As a responsible organisation, modalities have been put in place by our HSE department to carryout a social impact survey in all our host communities.”
