Rio De Janeiro — TotalEnergies is in talks with Brazilian state-run oil firm Petrobras to jointly explore potential business opportunities outside Brazil, Chief Executive Patrick Pouyanne said on Monday.

“We are discussing with them… It’s a commercial discussion,” Pouyanne told reporters on the sidelines of the ROG.e oil and gas event in Rio de Janeiro.
“They are ready to explore abroad in the Atlantic Basin. I keep that in mind and if we have opportunities, we are exploring in different countries. We could offer to Petrobras to participate, then up to Petrobras to decide.”
