Lagos — TotalEnergies EP Nigeria Limited delivered a strong and memorable presence at the 61st Annual International Conference and Exhibition, AICE, of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society, NMGS, held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.

This year’s conference, themed “Optimising Efficiency, Sustainability and Resilience in Natural Resource Management and Infrastructure Development,” convened Nigeria’s largest assembly of geoscientists and mining engineers. The week-long event also drew senior government officials, regulators, policymakers, academics, and industry leaders from across the country, underscoring its national significance.

Mr Adeoye Adeyemi, representing the General Manager, Corporate Geosciences and Specialties led the TotalEnergies delegation to this year’s conference. He was joined by the General Manager, Community Affairs, Projects & Development, Mr Dornu Kogam and Manager, 2G Specialties (4D), Dr. Sunday Amoyedo.

A major highlight of the conference was the NMGS/TotalEnergies Best Paper Awards, sponsored by TotalEnergies as part of its long‑standing partnership with the Society, a tradition that reflects TotalEnergies’ continued investment in research excellence and professional development.

During the Awards Night, Adeoye Adeyemi presented prizes to the top three papers presented at this year’s conference, recognizing outstanding, peer‑reviewed contributions advancing geoscience and mining practice in Nigeria.

Beyond the technical sessions, participants also enjoyed colourful cultural performances featuring dance and drama, that showed how geoscience impacts everyday life.

Through active participation and sponsorship, TotalEnergies reaffirmed its commitment to technical excellence, capacity development, sustainability, and continued partnership with academia and professional bodies.

NMGS Uyo 2026 provided a rich platform for knowledge exchange, relationship building, and reinforcing the company’s long-term dedication to Nigeria’s energy, mineral, and infrastructural advancement.
