23 April 2014, Lagos – Ten vessels laden with petroleum products and containers are waiting to berth at the Lagos ports, says the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA.
The NPA disclosed this in its daily publication, “Shipping Position”, made available to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, on Wednesday in Lagos.
According to it, four of the ships are carrying petrol, while two ships are loaded with base oil and aviation fuel.
It said the remaining two ships were carrying containers with different goods and steel products.
The NPA also said that 51 other ships, carrying various items, would sail into the Lagos ports between April 23 and May 16.
“Six of the ships will arrive with petroleum products and 14 containers with various goods.
“Other items in the vessels are bulk wheat, general cargo, crude palm oil, bulk malt, bulk fertiliser, bulk rice, bulk sugar and fresh fish
“The other items loaded in the ships are bulk charcoal, steel products, semitrailer, bulk salt, bulk gypsum, bulk sugar, bulk malt, rice in bags, and bulk fertiliser,” it said.
Meanwhile, the NPA said that 21 ships are currently discharging containers, general cargo, bulk wheat, steel product, rice in bags, base oil, yellow corn, bulk sugar and petroleum products at the Lagos ports.
