Chuks Isiwu 06 May 2014, Sweetcrude, Houston – The 2014 Offshore Technology Conference, OTC, kicked off Monday at Reliant Centre in Houston, Texas.

The conference, which is expected to attract over 100,000 people over the course of just four days, offers the latest technology in offshore oil and gas equipment under one roof.

Over 2,700 exhibitors are showcasing their products and services at the event, occupying more than 680,000 square feet, which is equal to about twelve football fields.

“OTC is the showcase for what’s happening in the oil and gas business, especially in the sub-sea realm,” Patrick Kimball of FMC Technologies, said. “It’s a good opportunity to get with the public and let them know about the latest things we are doing.”

    The conference ends on Thursday.

According to Mr. Geoff Onuoha, chairman, Conferences Committee of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria, PETAN, over 2,500 delegates are promoting the potential of Nigeria and its oil md gas industry at the event.

At the opening of the event on Monday, Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, was at the Nigerian pavilion, where he wooed international investors to exploit opportunities in the Nigerian oil and gas gas sector.
