    NSTPJDA, TotalEnergies & partners commissions social project in Zaria

    Lagos — Nigeria-Sao Tome & Principe Joint Development Authority, NSTPJDA, and its partners, TotalEnergies Upstream Nigeria Limited, and ExxonMobil have built and handed over a hygiene and sanitary facility to the management of the Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, Zaria in Kaduna State as a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility, CRS, initiative under the Joint development Zone, JDZ block 7, 8 & 11 Production Sharing Contract.

    The Hygiene and Sanitary Project consists of 10 toilets divided into two parts of five each for males and females, as well as hand wash basins and dryers supported with a 1.5SP automatic solar power submersible pump, 3.5KVA solar system with overhead storage tank.

    Mr. Abdullahi Zubairu, Project Manager of JDZ Sanitary Project, Zaria, Kaduna, said a good sanitary environment can go a long a way in protecting the population from diseases, while underscoring the JDZ’s commitment to economic development.

    He said: “The completion and commissioning of this project is in furtherance of the corporate social responsibility initiative of deepwater operations. In 2023 alone 23 significant projects were inaugurated by TotalEnergies across the country.

    “In consonance with the latest United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the commissioning of such projects has become regular for us as a company, and we have started commissioning another set of 20 projects that have been completed.”

    He also thanked the stakeholders, including the state government and others for their support.

    Also speaking at the event, The Board Chairman and Executive Director Finance & Administration, NSTPJDA, Dr. Almajiri Geidam, represented by Mrs. Margaret Jeb Allah, in his remark, said, “The hygiene and sanitation project we are commissioning today, is one of such project slated for execution in each of the six geo-political zones of the country as a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility, CRS, initiative under the Joint development Zone, JDZ block 7, 8 & 11 Production Sharing Contract signed by Nigeria-Sao Tome & Principe Joint Development Authority, JDA, with TotalEnergies, operator of the block and ExxonMobil.

    He disclosed that the project consists of a block of 10 units toilets and other valuable inclusion, such as perimeter fence, water tank stands, and solar panels all located in the state government owned tertiary institution, Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic Zaria, in the Northwest Zone.

    Dr. Geidam expressed gratitude towards the government, their partner and the academic community for ensuring quality execution of the project and also creating a conducive work environment.

    “We are proud to be identified with this modest collaborative effort between the JDA and the operator in fulfillment of the Corporate Social Responsibility, CRS, on behalf of the Board and the management of the JDA. Our sincere appreciation goes to our Joint Ministerial Council, JMC, for the government support and liaison, our partner TotalEnergies for ensuring quality performance of contract, the authorities and students of Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, Zaria, for creating a conducive work environment, and the contractor for delivering on the project.

    “Therefore, it is with great pleasure, that JDA dedicates this project to the service of esteemed academic community of Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, Zaria,” he said.

    The students of the Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, Zaria also expressed appreciation to TotalEnergies and partners for such a wonderful project and promised to take care of the facility.
