Lagos — In a bid to foster stronger collaboration between the Nigeria Customs Service and the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Saad Hassan, paid a courtesy visit to the Kaduna State NYSC Coordinator at the NYSC Secretariat in Kaduna.

During the visit, Comptroller Hassan reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and development of corps members.

He noted that those posted to the Command are well-integrated into various units, where they are exposed to real-time administrative and operational procedures of the Service.

According to him: “Through mentorship and exposure to professional ethics, we are building a pipeline of future leaders who will serve the nation with dedication and excellence.”

The CAC stated that the initiative is part of the Command’s contribution to national development, as it nurtures young Nigerians in public service values and professional ethics.

He said: “By investing in the younger generation, we aim to nurture young Nigerians who embody the principles of integrity, discipline, values and accountability, that are essential to effective public service and national progress.

“Beyond capacity building, this effort also underscores our determination to strengthen institutional collaboration. The partnership between our Command and NYSC represents a shared vision for a better society.”

The State Coordinator of NYSC, Kaduna, Mrs Efeke Murna Dadaza, warmly welcomed the CAC and commended the Command for its continued support and hospitality towards corps members serving within the formation.

She appealed for sustained opportunities for corps members to learn workplace ethics, develop professional discipline, and gain practical experience that would enhance their post-service career prospects.

The Coordinator further emphasised the importance of prioritising the welfare of corps members during their service year.
