16 November 2017, Sweetcrude, Bahrain — With the deadline looming for the implementation of the bunker fuel regulations in 2020, it is not surprising that this will be the dominating subject for discussion at Euro Petroleum Consultants’ upcoming BBTC MENA 2017 – Bottom of the Barrel Technology Conference taking place on 4-5 December in Bahrain.
The result of the International Maritime Organisation’s MARPOL VI means that the refining industry will need to convert around 150mte of residue to 0.50 mass % sulphur, therefore, having a massive impact on refinery configuration and operations.
