19 June 2015, Ughelli – Justice Ebiowei Tobi of Ughelli High Court II, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State has order the arrest and detention of the Ughelli District Principal Officer of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC, Mr. Pius Ajeh for contempt of court.
According to the order, Mr. Ajeh, a Principal Officer to BEDC who is the defendant, failed to obey an order of the court dated 23rd February, 2105 ordering the defendant to immediately reconnect the premises of one Ilesha-Yovwe Udoro who is the claimant, to the defendants electricity power supply in a suit No. UHC/193/2015.
Ordering the detention of Mr. Ajeh for seven days at the Okere Prison, Warri, and be brought back to the court on June 25th, 2015, the order states: I hereby order that Mr. Pius Ajeh be arrested and detained at the Okere Prison, Warri for 7 days so that he be purged of his contempt.
