    Explosion in Addax facility claims two lives in Imo

    *Explosion rocks Addax facility at Izombe

    Port Harcourt — A suspected bomb explosion in a flow station operated by Addax Petroleum Nigeria Limited in Izombe, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, on Wednesday claimed the lives of two person.

    The two victims who died in explosion, according to eye witnesses, were carriers of the bomb.

    Witnesses claimed that the victims were trying to find their way into the flow station through the entrance when the bomb exploded and killed them.

    The explosion, according to the Imo State Command of the Nigerian Police Force, occurred in the early hours of Wednesday.

    Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer in Imo State, Mr Michael Abattam, said the incident was caused by a bomb explosion.

    Abattam disclosed that the Imo State Police Command has already drafted the command’s anti-bomb unit, as well operatives of the command to the area to prevent any breakdown of law and order.

    Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, the management of Addax Petroleum Nigeria Limited was yet to comment on the development.
