Demand for Pertamina’s 98-octane fuel has risen 76% this year, while stock of its 90-octane fuel is currently at a safe level, but slightly below the company’s target, Mars Ega Legowo Putra, chief executive of Pertamina Patra Niaga told members of parliament.
“We are now working on additional cargoes for Pertalite,” he said, referring to Pertamina’s 90-octane fuel, its most popular gasoline.
A cargo for the 98-octane fuel is already on the way to Indonesia, he added.
He did not elaborate on how much additional supply was needed through imports.
Up to October 2025, Pertamina recorded 87 million kilolitres of total fuel sales for both retail and industry customers, company data showed.
