Lagos — The Nigerian chapter of INSEAD global alumni over the weekend gathered to celebrate the impact members of the group are making across various industries in both the Nigerian and world economies.
Over the weekend, INSEAD’s Nigerian alumni chapter turned the spotlight on its members, recognizing how their entrepreneurial drive and leadership are shaping industries at home and influencing economies around the world.
Speaking at the ceremony, President of the Nigerian group, Angela Attah disclosed sustainability and impact are some of the goals that INSEAD holds dearly.
Attah also disclosed that the INSEAD has just secured a partnership with ‘Teach for Nigeria’ and initiative will see INSEAD alumni in Nigeria develop and deliver financial literacy programs to schools in underserved communities, empowering educators and students alike with the tools to build brighter futures.
She stated that the Nigeria celebration was more than a gathering adding that it was a living embodiment of INSEAD’s mission which is to develop responsible leaders who transform business and society.
She said: “September 12 marks Global INSEAD Day, a momentous occasion celebrated by INSEAD alumni across more than 150 countries to honour the admission of INSEAD’s inaugural class in Fontainebleau, France. This date commemorates the birth of a vision that has since shaped generations of global leaders.
“In 1959 as its inaugural class started, U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower sent a message of support to INSEAD, underscoring the critical role of international cooperation in business education and the power of leadership to promote peace and prosperity.
“His words helped position INSEAD as a pioneering institution, one that brings together people, cultures, and ideas to transform business and society. Sixty-six years later, that endorsement remains as resonant and relevant as ever.
“This year, the INSEAD Alumni Association Nigeria joined the global celebration with an unforgettable evening in Lagos and welcomed over 40 alumni, including entrepreneurs, executives, and changemakers, all united by a shared legacy and a commitment to impact.
“But beyond the elegance and camaraderie, the event marked a strategic leap forward in social impact. Under the leadership of Mrs. Angela Attah, the Alumni Executive Committee unveiled a new partnership with Teach for Nigeria. This initiative will see INSEAD alumni in Nigeria develop and deliver financial literacy programs to schools in underserved communities—empowering educators and students alike with the tools to build brighter futures.
“From its campuses in Fontainebleau, Singapore, Abu Dhabi and San Francisco to its vibrant representation in Lagos Nigeria, the spirit of INSEAD continues to inspire action, spark innovation, and drive meaningful change. Global INSEAD Day 2025 was not just commemorated it was amplified.”
