Chevron in the background, Ugborodo in the foreground01 August 2014, Warri – An Ugborodo youth leader and activist, Mr. Bawo Neburagho, has said that the current crisis rocking the community had nothing to do with the multi-billion dollar Export Processing Zone, EPZ, Ogidigben gas project in Delta State.

Bawo said the problem was purely that of leadership tussle between two factions in the community, which he said has led to the burning of houses and other properties at both Ugborodo in Escravos, and Egbokodo, in Warri Sout-West Local Government and Warri South Local Government areas, respectively.

Speaking to newsmen on the recent fracas, Bawo said a group violated the agreement reached for a peaceful resettlement of displaced persons by denying them access to their community.

He noted that government must now enforce and ensure that the Rule of Law prevails while dealing with those who breached the peace accord accordingly.
