Lagos — It was a blaze of color at the Nigerian Content Tower, Swali, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State as Management and staff of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), marked Day 1 of Customer Service Week 2022 in hues depictive of their recent successes.

Emerging tops in the latest Executive Order (EO1) performance ranking of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) for Ease of Doing Business, the organization showcased its source of strength, the workforce.

Teamwork, quality and efficient service delivery, and dedication, according to the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote, catapulted the organization to the apex, with its 81.48 percent grading last September by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), hence the event in which the colors, dress patterns, masquerades, music, and dance steps of all sections of Nigeria were paraded. As the cultural troupe from Benue Group stated: “Our strength in NCDMB is in our diversity.”

Preparatory to the celebration, five different groups were created – Nupe, Benue, Kalabari, Ibibio, and Edo and employees were allowed to join any of the groups of their choice. On the first day of the event, staff who were attired in clothing that represented the rich cultures of different tribes engaged in dances, cultural displays, and drama skits. They also made presentations on the history of the different cultures and were accessed by judges.

The event was organized by the SERVICOM Unit of the Board and was conceived to celebrate the Board’s focus on providing quality service to their stakeholders and growing team spirit among members of staff.

In his comments, the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, Mr. Akintunde Adelena explained that the Board’s Customer week which was in the second edition was geared to showcase the creative talents of its staff and celebrate the rich culture of Nigerians. He added that the event coincided with international customer week, which holds in the first week of October and it rewards persons who provide service and support customers every day.

Other activities lined up for the Customer Service Week include ‘NCDMB Talent Hunt Show,’ and ‘Customer Service Retreat, gala night, and movie night.
