    Lagos — The Nigerian Oil & Gas, NOG has announced a strategic virtual conference for 2020 in compliance with the Nigeria Centre of Disease Control, NCDC banning gatherings of more than 20 persons due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

    With the next full in-person annual conference and exhibition slated for Abuja from June 15 to 18, 2021, this year’s edition will take place online from 2 – 3 November 2020.

    Themed “The Future of Gas 1: Tackling the Challenges in Legislation & Pricing Regulations”, speakers such as Justice Opelamina Derefaka, Technical Adviser on Gas Business & Policy Implementation to the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Timpre Sylva, is expected to be on ground to discuss the challenges and way forward of the selected discourse.

    Managing Director, Frontier Oil will be the moderator, while panelists such as Sen. James Manager, Senate Committee Chair – Gas, National Assembly Hon. Nicholas Mutu, House Committee Chairman – Gas Resources, National Assembly Yusuf Usman, Chief Operating Officer – Gas & Power, NNPC Justice Derefaka, Program Manager, Nigerian Gas Flare Commercialization Program, NGFCP Ed Ubong, Managing Director, Shell Nigeria Gas Sanjay Narasimhalu, Director Downstream Gas, Chevron Nigeria Limited Yetunde Bajela-Taiwo, Managing Director, ANOH Gas Processing Company, have also been booked.

    Key topics lined up for the two-day conference include: How proposed fiscal terms of the PIB encourage investment into adequate infrastructure for distribution, Implementation of National Gas Policy – reviewing the progress made by Government based on the short, mid and long-term goals since 2017, Impediments to E&P for non-associated gas and what solutions can be proffered, Progress has been on the Nigerian Gas Flare Commercialisation Programme, Next steps towards achieving gas flare commercialisation objectives, and Reviewing the current tariff structure: if the price of gas in the domestic market higher or lower than the export parity price.
