18 March 2014, Lagos – Malam Habib Abdullahi, the Managing Director of Nigeria Ports Authority, on Tuesday said that NPA would soon open complaints centres.
He said that the centres would be in all the ports in the country and at the NPA Liaison Office in Abuja, adding that Nigerians and foreigners could use the facility.
Abdullahi disclosed this known at the launch of Information Communication Technology (ICT) Help Desk and Computer Gallery at NPA headquarters in Lagos.
He said that the gallery would help to block revenue leakages in the organisation and improve efficiency in port operations.
Abdullahi said that the gallery would also provide “comfort for shipping communities.” stressing that the initiative was also intended as support to Federal Government’s transformation agenda.
He said that the transformation of the NPA would include the identification of revenue sources, investment in massive infrastructure, renewal and development of projects and automation and integration of ports.
Abdullahi described the inauguration of the gallery as a ‘milestone development’ in the management of the organisation.
He urged workers to take advantage of the new facilities to improve on the processes to “deliver first-class service to customers and stakeholders.”
