Lagos — The management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), in collaboration with its technical partners, Truck Transit Parks (TTP), has redirected truck traffic bound for terminals at the Tin Can Island Port to ensure seamless port operations.
In a notice to stakeholders and dated February 25th 2026, Truck Transit Parks (TTP) said trucks heading to Tin Can Island Container Terminal (TICT) and Josepdam Port Services have been directed to access the pre-gate via MOB, while trucks bound for Ports & Cargo Handling Services, PTML, and Five Star Logistics Terminal are to use other designated Tin Can pre-gates.
The notice also warned that non-compliance could lead to operational disruptions and denial of access, stressing that the measure is designed to enhance traffic management, improve operational efficiency, and ensure seamless cargo movement within the Tin Can Island Port corridor.
Part of Notice reads:”The management of Tin-Can Island Port authorities hereby notify all stakeholders, transporters, fleet managers and truck operators of a mandatory pre-gating directive effective Monday next week.
“This directive applies to all bookings processed on the ‘Eto’ platform and based on terminal destination. Trucks destined for Tin-Can Island Container Terminal (TICT) and Josephdam Port Services must Pre-gates from MOB.
Trucks destined for Port and Cargo Handling Services, Port and Terminal Multi-Purpose Services Limited, PTML, and Five Star Logistics Terminal must Pre-gate from all other designated Tin-Can Pre-gates, excluding MOB.
“All truck operators, fleet managers and relevant stakeholders are required to strictly adhere to this directive. The measure is designed to enhance traffic management, improve operational efficiency and ensure seamless cargo movement within the Tin-Can port corridor.
“Non-compliance may result in operational disruption and denial of access. For full alignment, stakeholders are advised to update their operational processes accordingly.”
