    *Explosion rocks Shell, Agip facilities

Port Harcourt — The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has hinted that its preliminary findings indicate that the multiple explosions which rocked Ikarama community last Monday was carried out by vandals.

Recall that multiple explosions rocked oil facilities operated by the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited, SPDC and the Nigerian Agip Oil Company, NAOC in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, leading to a force majeure.

State Commandant of NSCDC in Bayelsa, Christiana Abiaka-Omanu, confirmed that investigation into the incident was already underway.

Abiaka-Omanu said the findings would form part of the statutory Joint Investigative Visit, which would include representatives of the firms, host communities, regulators and Bayelsa State Ministry of Environment.
