Port Harcourt — The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, NUPRC, has emerged as SERVICOM’s Best Performing Parastatal for 2025, outperforming key federal agencies in a ranking that underscores rising efficiency in Nigeria’s upstream oil and gas regulation.
The award was conferred at the 2025 SERVICOM Awards and Recognition Ceremony for Nodal Officers and MDAs’ SERVICOM Units in Abuja, where NUPRC clinched first place in the Best Performing Parastatal SERVICOM Unit (Team B) category.
In the competitive ranking, the Commission placed ahead of the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, which emerged second and third respectively.
The recognition reflects NUPRC’s growing emphasis on service delivery, responsiveness, and institutional efficiency in the regulation of Nigeria’s upstream petroleum sector, a critical area for investment confidence and production growth.
According to the award citation, NUPRC was recognised as the “Best Performing Parastatal SERVICOM Unit for 2025,” a distinction that highlights measurable improvements in customer engagement and service standards.
The Commission also recorded a major individual honour, as Ann Ihuoma Dozie-Enukora of the NUPRC SERVICOM Unit was named “Best Performing Nodal Officer of the Year (2025).”
The individual award recognises what the organisers described as “outstanding dedication to service improvement and customer satisfaction” within the federal public service framework.
SweetCrude Reports noted that the dual recognition now positions NUPRC as a benchmark for service delivery among regulatory agencies, particularly at a time when efficiency and transparency are central to Nigeria’s energy sector reforms.
The SERVICOM awards are designed to promote a service-oriented culture across Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, with performance assessed on compliance, effectiveness and citizen-focused delivery.
For NUPRC, the 2025 honours signal growing institutional credibility as it continues to play a central role in implementing the Petroleum Industry Act and strengthening upstream sector governance.
