Lagos — The Petroleum Technology Development Fund, PTDF, received a delegation from Education Malaysia Global Services, EMGS, at the PTDF Tower, Abuja. The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen international partnerships and improve service delivery for Nigerian scholars studying in Malaysia.
The Executive Secretary, PTDF, Mr. Ahmed Galadima Aminu, was ably represented at the meeting by the General Manager, Education and Training Department, Hajia Rabi’ah Umar Waziri-Adamu, who led the Fund’s delegation during the engagement.
Discussions focused on advancing collaboration aimed at enhancing the efficiency of services provided to Nigerian students, particularly PTDF scholars enrolled in Malaysian institutions. Key areas explored included the possibility of improved tuition arrangements for PTDF-sponsored scholars, enhanced visa processing timelines, and streamlined administrative procedures to ensure a more seamless academic transition and experience for beneficiaries of the Fund’s scholarship programmes.
The engagement builds on the outcomes of the earlier high-level visit to Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, UTP, Malaysia, where the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri led a PTDF delegation to strengthen partnerships supporting the development of the College of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Kaduna, CPESK, and Nigeria’s broader human capacity development objectives in the energy sector.
Discussions during the Malaysia visit centred on postgraduate education, institutional systems development, research collaboration, technology transfer, and talent management frameworks, with a view to adapting global best practices to Nigeria’s evolving energy education landscape.
The engagement reinforces PTDF’s commitment to strengthening partnerships that enhance support for its scholars while advancing human capacity development for Nigeria’s energy sector.
