25 January 2014, Luanda – The board of the state-owned Sonangol Shipping informed last Friday, in Luanda, that it lost contact, since January 19, with the oil tanker MT Kerala of Greek origin but bearing a Liberian flag, which has been charted by Sonangol.
In its communiqué, Sonangol informs that the tanker, still to be located, had on board a crew made up of Indian and Philippine nationals, in a total of 27 people.
The document states that by the time of the last contact, the ship was on the coast of Luanda City, Angola.
The note also informs that to find out the causes behind the disappearance of the oil tanker, the necessary measures have already been taken by the Angolan authorities.
