The ex-agitators said the meeting was also an avenue for them to pass a vote of confidence on President Buhari and Boroh on their landmark efforts to bring development to the Niger Delta.
“Any resumption of hostilities will not be in the interest of our people. This is not the time to resume hostilities. It is true that the federal government has not been quite serious about the negotiations, but we are asking the NDA to maintain the peace.”

Boroh said those alleging that the amnesty office had outstanding foreign students’ bills were peddling false information and were being unpatriotic to the sacrifices and efforts of the government.
“We appeal to the Presidency to consider giving the pipeline surveillance contracts to the youths in the region who know the terrain better.”
It appealed to youths in the region and the agitators to cooperate with HOSTCOM in its effort to checkmate and police pipeline vandalism, oil theft, illegal bunkering, illegal refineries and all activities deemed to be detrimental to sustainable development of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria.
