    TCN assures of improved power supply in Ikorodu

    20 April 2012, Sweetcrude, LAGOS – THE Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says it has begun to install a new 60MVA 132/33KV power transformer in Ikorodu area of Lagos State to address the regular power outage in the area.

    The company said the developmenmt would also help resolve massive load shedding and improve power supply in the area.

    A statement by Mrs. Celestina Osin, principal manager (Public Affairs), said the new transformer will replace the 45MVA 132/33KV power transformer, which developed fault on March, 30.

    The statement added that TCN’s new chief executive officer, Mr. Olusola Akinniranye, has directed that engineers and technicians working on the project complete work and energise the transformer by April 21.

    Visiting the site where the transformer is being installed, Akinniranye appealed to residents of area for understanding, explained that the new and bigger 60MVA power transformer, will guarantee quality and reliability of electricity to the area.

    He was accompanied by the General Manager (Transmission), Lagos Region, Mr. Oyeleke Adeoye, and the Assistant General Manager (Transmission Services), Mr.Timothy Uwah.
