Port Harcourt — The Deputy National President of the Trade Union Congress, TUC, Comrade Chika Hygenius Onuegbu, is dead.
Onuegbu who is the immediate-past National Industrial Relations Officer of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, reportedly died last Saturday after a brief illness.
Until his demise, Comrade Onuegbu was the Chaiman, PENGASSAN and NUPENG Joint Committee on PIB.
The outspoken labour leader, who recently bagged a distinction-Masters in Law- from a University in the United Kingdom, was also the immediate past Chairman, Rivers State Chapter of TUC.
His unfortunate demise has thrown the labour movement, TUC, NLC PENGASSAN and Rivers State into deep mourning.
Comrade Chika Onuegbu, a jolly good fellow, fiery labour leader and media friendly person, hailed from Oduoha in Emohua Local Government area of Rivers State.
In 2019, Onuegbu was coronated with a chieftaincy in his country home, as the Egwurugwu Emohua Neriri.
