Port Harcourt — Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has urged Seplat Energy to deepen its impact in host communities as the company strengthens its operations in the state.
Eno made the call when he received the management of Seplat Energy, led by its Chairman, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, at Government House, Uyo, where the company formally introduced its new Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Effiong Okon.
The governor congratulated Okon on his appointment and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting investors, protecting investments and sustaining the peace required for businesses to operate in the state.
Eno also urged Seplat to strengthen its partnership with the state government and expand its contributions to host communities.
“I also urged Seplat Energy to deepen its impact in host communities and continue its partnership with the State Government for the benefit of our people,” the governor said.
The governor said Akwa Ibom would continue to provide an environment conducive to investment while maintaining the stability that supports business operations.
Okon’s introduction comes as Seplat Energy continues to expand its indigenous participation in Nigeria’s upstream oil and gas industry.
