    Angola’s Energy Minister okays electric sector reorganisation

    power transmission grid14 August 2013, Luanda — Angola’s minister of Energy and Waters, João Baptits Borges, on Wednesday said the transforming project of the electrical sector caused the reorganisation of the sector that was rendered materialised with the separation of the juridical-accounting activities, Angop has learnt.

    The government official said so when speaking at the second internal technical activities, under the commemorations of the Luanda Energy Supply Company (Edel), adding the mentioned project represents new organisation taking into account the value chains of activities – production,transmission and distribution.

    He said the creation of these new public organisations demanded the organising redifinition of the new organs, functions, processes and models of governance.

    The Minister also said that a deep restructuring of the sector started, meant to accomplish the goals set under the politicy and national energy security strategy.
