25 July 2012, Sweetcrude/African Press Organization (APO), BRUSSELS, Kingdom of Belgium, – The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the Commission has congratulated the Egyptian prime minister on his appointment.
“His appointment is another step forward in the country’s democratic transition. As I told President Morsi last week when we met in Cairo, we look forward to working with him and the new Government which I trust will be inclusive and representative of Egypt’s diversity.
“The EU knows that Egypt faces many social, political and economic challenges. As I discussed with President Morsi, we are ready to work with him and provide assistance at this crucial time in Egypt’s history, working in close partnership with Egypt’s new democratic authorities.”
