Lagos — As part of its commitment to Personal Corporate Social Responsibility, PCSR, Ikeja Electric, Nigeria’s leading electricity distribution company, visited Karaole Primary School, Ifako-Ijaiye, and Fred Williams Memorial Primary School, Fagba, in Lagos to welcome pupils back to school and promote electrical safety awareness.

The initiative aimed to educate young learners on the importance of staying safe around electricity and electrical appliances. Through an interactive and engaging session, the Ikeja Electric team introduced the “Electricity 5 ALIVE!” safety acronym, designed to instil critical safety habits in children.

A – Always be mindful that electricity can pose dangers.
L – Look and smell attentively for any electrical hazards.
I – If your hands are wet, refrain from touching any electrical appliances.
V – Value your safety above all else.
E – Ensure that any electrical issues are promptly reported to adults or parents, who can then notify the nearest Ikeja Electric office for assistance.

Ikeja Electric, believes that safety begins with awareness and by educating children early on about the potential hazards of electricity and how to stay safe, they are equipped with essential knowledge that can prevent accidents and save lives.

Beyond safety education, Ikeja Electric continues to champion impactful PCSR activities that contribute to the well-being of the communities it serves. The company remains steadfast in its mission to deliver reliable power while ensuring that customers, especially the younger generation, understand the importance of electrical safety.
