    Kenyan oil dealers head for Nairobi talks

    Flag map of Kenya22 April 2014, Nairobi — Kenyan capital Nairobi will next week play host to over 1000 delegates from across the world to discuss the region’s mineral potential.

    The 3rd Oil and Gas Africa Exhibition will bring together scientists; engineers, technocrats, environmentalists and entrepreneurs apart from top government officials from the energy sector.

    The conference comes in the wake of renewed interest in East Africa as a source of key minerals will the discovery of oil deposits in Kenya and Uganda and rich gas finding in Tanzania.

    It also comes at a time when global players in the oil and gas business are

    “Over the past ten years, Oil production has doubled in Africa and new routes have been created for the transportation of hydrocarbons to world markets,” event planner, Neville Trinidade said.

    The event is to take place between April 27 and 29. It has attracted other diverse professionals including technologists; planners, policy makers, management experts and entrepreneurs.

    Successful development of the Oil and Gas industry will continue to play an important role in improving the stability of the country’s international and regional situation,” added Trinidade.

    The growth of production capacities and expansion of transport infrastructure as well according to Trinidade, is promoting greater cooperation between Africa and international oil and gas industry professionals.

    The event aims to explore areas of growth in petroleum technology, exploration, drilling, production and processing, refining, pipeline, transportation, petrochemicals, natural gas, LNG, petroleum trade, economics, marketing, research, development, information technology, safety, health and environment management in the oil and gas sector.

    Kenya has attracted oil & gas companies not only because of its ports and strategic location but also because the government is keen not to be left out of the exploration.

    Trade visitors from all over East & Central African countries are being invited directly and in collaboration with several regional trade bodies.

    Oil & Gas Africa will offer participants the opportunity to showcase the industry’s latest achievements and technologies while networking with key figures from the region’s oil and gas sector. The exhibition brings the industry together in a forum that is conducive to business.
