To this end, SDH Integrated Services said it has just completed at Saipem Yard in Port Harcourt, its first insulation project for the Egina project, with a team of highly skilled local application technicians.
Chairman of SDH Integrated Services, Mr. Morrison Fiddi, said all of the company’s wet insulations, jumpers, manifolds and XMT’s refurbishment which hitherto were done overseas are now being perfected in Nigeria, in compliance with local content regulations.
Fiddi disclosed these in his address at the official presentation and demonstration of Trelleborg Offshore and SDH Integrated Services’ in-country capabilities in deep offshore projects and pipeline leak and intrusion detection systems using fibre optic cabling.
The company, which demonstrated two solutions named Vikotherm P7 and Vikotherm R2, explained that P7 is a solid polyurethane insulation for wet insulation system, while R2 is a site applied rubber based thermal insulation used in deep offshore projects.
Although the company said it was currently working with Shell for the approval of Vikotherm R2, it demonstrated the preparation, casting and de-molding of a typical offshore two-part mold on a sample pipe following procedures developed by Trelleborg Offshore to meet the industries standard.
